Introduction
The Chronic Kidney Disease is a condition that results when the kidney loses its ability to shed of the excess waste and water from the bloodstream. When fluids and waste accumulate, the functions of some body systems are affected thus resulting in complications. The primary causes of this chronic disease are high blood pressures and diabetes. In this case, it is significant to ascertain that the kidney disease is known as the largest killer.
Clinical Presentation of the Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD)
An efficient way of presenting CKD in a clinical way is calculating patient’s glomerular filtration rate (GFR). The glomerular filtration rate (GFR) is a measurement tool that is used in establishing the level of waste fluid in a patient’s kidney filtered from the bloodstream within a given period of time. Patient’s who presents the symptoms of CKD between the first and the third stage (glomerular filtration rate [GFR]>30ML/min.1.73m2), are considered to be asymptomatic (Buttaro, et.al.2013). This is attributed to the loss of glomerular filtration rate (GFR) that may result in an imbalance in the patient’s electrolyte, metabolic and water derangements. Generally, such an imbalance is likely to manifest clinically within the fourth stage of CKD (GFR<30Ml/min/1.73m2).
In addition to this, the Uremic manifestations of CKD in patients within the fifth stage may result out of the accumulation of toxins with a full level of sputum. This depicts the fact that a metabolic acidosis is likely to occur in patients in their fifth stages of CKD that manifest as a result of inadequate protein-energy, thus resulting into the loss of the body’s lean mass and muscle weaknesses. An alteration in the water and salt content in the kidney in patients who suffer from CKD may cause peripheral edema (Buttaro, et.al.2013). On the other hand, the decrease in a patient’s erythropoietin or renal synthesis may cause Armenia that may cause fatigues and impairment in a patient’s immune and cognitive functions, thus demining the quality of a patient’s life.
