Earlier in the course, we explored the relationship between research, theory, and practice, and the important role of each within the cycle of research, theory, and practice.  Just as research is needed to advance nursing theory, theoretical frameworks are useful to guide the research process.  In our second TD this week, you will identify a research study that did not use a theoretical framework, and discuss the impact of the study in relation to the missing theoretical component.
